Apostasy (PG)

Daniel Kokotajlo | 2017 | UK | 95’

Set among a community of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Oldham, the film deals subtly and carefully with the fallout caused in a family by tragressions that threaten ‘disfellowship’.  Written and Directed by Daniel Kokotajlo (Myra, The Mess Hall of an Online Warrior), who himself grew up in a Jehovah’s Witness family before leaving the faith while at college, the film demonstrates a deep knowledge, sensitively relayed, married with masterful storytelling.
